Saliva substitutes are products designed to keep the mouth well lubricated for longer. They must preserve the natural conditions of the mouth (pH, protective bacterial flora, etc.).
They use soothing and lubricating substances, with film-forming ingredients that protect the mucosa, gelling agents to prolong the lubricating effect and sometimes substances that protect against demineralisation of the teeth.
They are usually available as sprays, for even application over the gums and insides of the cheeks, such as the Inava Dry Mouth spray. Ask your dentist or pharmacist for advice.
